And just to be sure we’re speaking the same language, here are two important definitions:

  • Content marketing refers to creating and sharing content articles, blogs videos for the purposes of driving traffic to your website and moving visitors in order to acquire new customers.
  • Link building when you get other websites or blogs to link to your site’s page in order to improve your search engine rankings. The engines crawl the web looking for links between your web pages and other websites to decide how valid your content is and thus where your page should rank in their search results.

Good content can help you build links to your website. But let’s step back for a moment and explain what exactly quality material is. must give a relevant information which user search for, high quality content must target the audience. the use of good images, videos, infographics,

 Link Placement

It may be the case that the search engines attribute more weight to certain types of links.

For example, a text link from within content may pass more authority than a link from a sidebar or footer. This is because an in-content link is more likely to be:

  • Editorial
  • Actually clicked
  • Surrounded by relevant text (see link relevancy)

Google’s ‘Reasonable Surfer’ patent, filed in 2004 and approved in 2010, suggests that Google will attempt to determine how likely a link is to be ‘clicked’ and consider this when deciding how much weight a link will pass.

Anchor Text

While it is clear from the data that keyword use in anchor text has a positive impact on rankings, it should also be pointed out that overuse of keyword rich anchors can have the opposite effect.

Too many anchor text links can be a sign of manipulation and may incur link penalties, such as Google Penguin.

Link Relevancy

Google holds a patent (filed in 2004) called “Ranking based on reference contexts”, which could be construed as a blueprint for inferring context from surrounding text. Ahrefs indexes both the surrounding text and anchor text for all backlinks discovered by our crawler. How to Link Building and Content Marketing

High-quality content.

Remember all those elements I listed for how to make your piece “valuable” as a linkable asset? All those are going to apply here. Beyond that, your content needs to be high-quality in two different ways. The first of these is the conventional, intuitive way. Your content should be well-researched, logically organized, with some compelling points, multimedia integrations, and of course, eloquent writing that’s accessible enough for almost anyone to enjoy. The second requirement of “high quality” is a bit more subtle and variable—your content has to be valuable specifically for the readers of your chosen publisher. Though it may be tempting to try and write what you know or what your main audience might want, you’ll need to compromise and keep your publisher’s audience in mind as the priority. Broader context.

Your link should also fit neatly into the broader context of your campaign. for example, a link and a guest post may fit all the requirements I listed above, but if you’re posting to the same site for the 100th time (and you don’t acquire links from anywhere else, you’re going to see greatly diminished returns from every new link posted there. Remember, one of your key principles for success is diversification, so in addition to adhering to all the best practices above, your links should be distinct from one another in both form and source.

Use social media

If your content is original and well structured, by using social media as well. Make sure you tweet about your blog, perhaps send some tweets to specific persons of whom you think they may like your article. Facebook is also a great way to get exposure for your articles (maybe… even promote it a bit?). And as many people like, tweet and share your articles, you’re bound to receive some more links as well. How to Link Building and Content Marketing

Write amazing content

In order to get other websites to link to your content, your content simply has to be amazing. And more importantly, it should appeal to the audience you’re aspiring to make your readers or buyers. Make sure your pieces and articles are well structured and nicely written.
