Jamb Results Grading system
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) in Nigeria conducts the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and the results are graded based on a scoring system. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the JAMB grading system was as follows:
- Each candidate is scored over a total of 400 marks.
- The UTME consists of four subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and two other subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen field of study.
- Each subject is graded out of 100 marks.
- Each correct answer in the UTME is awarded one mark, and each wrong answer leads to a deduction of 0.25 marks.
- The total score is the sum of the marks obtained in all subjects.
- The result is presented as a “UTME Score.”
How to Check Your JAMB Results
- Visit the JAMB Portal: To check your JAMB results, visit the official JAMB website (www.jamb.gov.ng) or the JAMB result portal (www.jamb.org.ng/efacility). You will need a stable internet connection and a device like a computer or smartphone.
- Log In: On the JAMB portal, log in with your JAMB registration number and your personal profile password. If you have forgotten your password, there is an option to reset it.
- View Your JAMB Result: After logging in, you can access your JAMB results. You can either view them online or download the result slip for future reference.
How To Check JAMB Result Using 55019 SMS
- Make sure you have a credit balance of at least N50 on your line
- Go to SMS and send UTMERESULT to 55019 using the number you used for registration.
- After N50 charges deduction, your JAMB result will be send to you.
