Stanford University is glad to announce the application for its Stanford University Fully Funded Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program For International Students in the USA, 2021.  Up to 100 scholarships are currently available for international students around the world.

The aim of the scholarship is to call students from around the world to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders.

About Knight Hennessy Scholars Program

Criteria

If you only remember one thing in this admission section, remember this: to be selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, you must apply separately for the Stanford Diploma Program you wish to pursue, in addition to the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program.

We cannot select it as Knight-Hennessy Fellow if the department does not admit it (although the ministry can admit it even if it is not selected as Knight-Hennessy Fellow).

What You Need to Know About Knight Hennessy Scholars Program

 

Level/Field of Study

Scholarships are available to pursue Graduate (PhD) degree program in arts, education, engineering, humanities, or social sciences to professional degrees in business, law, or medicine.

Specifically, Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive full funding to pursue graduate study at Stanford. This includes the JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, DMA, and PhD programs, as well as joint- and dual-degrees.

Who Is Eligible for Knight Hennessy Scholars Program

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • They encourage applications to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program from citizens of all countries. That’s natural since we expect Knight-Hennessy Scholars to have a global impact.
  • They expect that over time about one-third of their Scholars will be from the United States. And about two-thirds will be from countries outside the United States. Those numbers will fluctuate from year to year, since our goal is to admit the world’s very best students, regardless of location.

 

 Only for Graduate Degrees

Basically, you are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if you are applying to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford. For example, but not limited to, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MS, or PhD. Or if you plan on pursuing one of Stanford’s many joints- and dual- graduate degree options. For example, but not limited to, MD+PhD, JD+MA, MBA+MS).

The Stanford education of Knight-Hennessy Scholars is actually fully funded. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program funds up to the first three years of your graduate education. And if your degree program exceeds three years – such as an MD or PhD program, or a Stanford dual- or joint-degree program.

Furthermore, your Stanford home department will fund the remainder of your education to the extent consistent with its standard funding commitment for that program. (That is, some programs fund six years for PhDs, five years for PhDs.)

While they are excited to build a cohort that reflects the breadth of excellence at Stanford, there are no allocations or quotas by discipline or program.

Please note, however, that they will give priority to applicants who will spend at least two years at Stanford. Specifically, they do not believe one year is sufficient to build community and develop leadership.

 

Enrolling in 2020 or Later

You can apply for the Knight-Hennessy scholarships if you are applying for your last year of studies for your first/bachelor degree or within five years after obtaining your first/bachelor degree.

Also, for the cohort that applied in 2019, this means that you must have graduated from January 2014 to September 2020 in order to enroll in Stanford in September 2020.

For US military (active or veteran) candidates, you are eligible if you have completed your bachelor’s degree (first grade or license). ) diploma in 2012 or later.

Equally, if you are still in college and are studying for your first/bachelor degree, you can submit an application whenever you complete your first/bachelor degree before registering as a Stanford graduate student.

If you have obtained a Postgraduate Diploma, you are still eligible to apply in 2020 as long as you have obtained your first/bachelor degree in 2014 or later.

If you obtained your first degree more than five years ago (in 2013 or earlier), you are not eligible to apply for a Knight-Hennessy scholarship. This applies even if you graduated in 2014 or later.

The good news is that you can still enroll in the Stanford Graduate Program of your choice and there are many other options to fund your postgraduate studies at Stanford.

 

Other Eligibility Requirements

Beyond the eligibility requirements listed above, you are eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program as long as you meet the requirements of the Stanford graduate program(s) that you wish to pursue.

In most cases, you are eligible for a graduate program, even if you have not studied this specific area at the undergraduate level; Contact each graduate program to get specific information about your requirements.

You must complete not only your Knight-Hennessy Scholars scholarship application but also the entire application process for your graduate program. Including the standardized tests required by your graduate program (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) and, if required, a proficiency test in English (TOEFL or, only for MBA programs, IELTS).

While we expect Knight-Hennessy Scholars to have performed well, there is no minimum requirement for your grades or scores.

 

 Students Enrolling at Stanford Before 2021

Are you enrolled or do you plan to enroll as a Stanford graduate student?

If you enroll in a Stanford graduate program in 2019 or earlier, it cannot be considered a Knight-Hennessy Scholars program for your current degree program.

However, you can enroll in the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if you postpone enrollment in 2020 or later, or apply for a new graduate program at Stanford from 2021 or later.

 

 Apply the Year Before You Enroll

Deferral of enrollment to a graduate program is the responsibility of this department. Some programs allow the report, while others do not allow it. Regardless of the policy of the graduate program, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program does not differ from Scholar’s offers.

If you are selected as a Knight-Hennessy member and cannot register, we ask that you reapply. Exceptions to this policy are considered only in rare and unforeseen circumstances (for example, late separation from the military, health problems).

If you defer enrollment in a Stanford Graduate Program, you can apply as a Knight-Hennessy Fellow for the year of your enrollment in this program.

For example, if you have been admitted to the Stanford MBA program and the registration has been postponed until September 2023.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements:  Candidates should apply the Knight?Hennessy Scholars program within four years, and enroll within five years, after receiving their first/bachelor’s degree.

Candidates still studying for their first/bachelor’s degree should complete the aforesaid degree before enrollment as a graduate student at Stanford.

English language Requirements: Scores on standardized tests for admission, as required by the graduate program that you are pursuing – e.g., GMAT for the MBA Program, LSAT for the JD Program, MCAT for the MD Program, GRE (with GRE subject test encouraged) for PhD in biophysics.

It’s helpful and preferred if you have the test scores by the time you apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program, but this is not a requirement. You must, however, have these test scores by the departmental deadline.

If you have a degree from a university at which English is the language of instruction, then you do not need results of the TOEFL.

 

How to Apply For Stanford University Knight Hennessy Scholars Program
