Requirements to Study in Dubai
Eligibility Criteria
There are many Universities and Colleges where International Students can choose to study but they should meet the admission requirements. Students require Study Visa to study in Dubai if they are not United Arab Emirates national or do not belong to any 5 GCC countries i.e Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia. Before issuing Student Visa, all the formalities of University must be completed. Following are the documents required to apply for Dubai Student Visa:
A valid passport.
Four Passport copies.
Recent twelve passport sized photographs with white background.
Admission Offer Letter received from UAE university.
Students Bank statement for the verification of funds.
A tenancy agreement. If Student do not have any, then he must get a letter from University if he will be staying in the University Accommodation.
Copy of tuition fee receipt for the current year of study program.
Copy of visa fee receipt for the current year of study program.
Post-graduate students need to show proofs of undergraduate degree.
Once student reach Dubai, he need to undergo medical test from authorized medical center. The test generally includes medical test and chest X-ray for HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Leprosy, Syphilis and Tuberculosis.
If any of these test results positive then student will be deported with the exception of Syphilis because it can be treated.
Dubai Study Visa Process
United Arab Emirates is a study destination for International Students. It has become International Education spot as there are many Universities and Colleges which are setting up campuses for International Students. Students who wish to study in Dubai require Study Visa which is valid for full-time programs. Student visa is valid for a period of 12 months so students have to renew their visa at the end of 12 month period if their program is longer than that. Students are given short term visas for programs less than 12 months. Students must start the process 1-2 months before the semester. To apply for Dubai student visa, one must follow these steps:
- Student must fill visa application form and attach passport sized photograph on it.
- Make it sure that the attached photograph meets the required specifications.
- Complete the application by attaching the required documents as per checklist.
- Submit your application at Dubai application center.
- On visa approval, collect visa copy from application center.
Earn while Studying
Part time job is a main concern for every International Student. United Arab Emirate provides off-campus part-time job opportunities to International Students. But students require permission from the University or College for part-time work. Students can also work on campus in Libraries, Department and Administrative Offices where they get opportunities to gain experience outside the classroom. During sessions, students can work for 15 hours per week or 60 hours per month. And during summer breaks, they can work for 40 hours per week or 160 hours per month.
